Removing the lid

Using an Allen key, loosen the two bolts on
the lid's left and right pivot points and pull
out the two bolts.
10 The lid now rests loosely on the kiln casing.
With at least two people, carefully lift off the
lid, turn it over so the heating elements are
facing up and place the lid, flat top down,

on the prepared work surface. Do not lift the
lid by the electrical box or the external relay
cooling element area.
Pay attention to the electrical box and
12 power cord when lifting the lid. Neither must
be damaged.
Place the lid on a smooth, even surface.

Never place the lid vertically on its edge!
Finally, only the main ring, including the kiln
13 floor, is on the base frame. This model
cannot be disassembled further.
Separating the Fusing 230
The Fusing 230 kiln can be separated into three sections to make it easier to transport.
Step Description
General preparations
1 Switch off the kiln completely.
2 Pull the power plug out of the socket.
3 Open the lid.
Have at least one other person hold the

lid so it does not fall off while you work.
