Instructions for use
9.1.
Operational incident/emergency
9.1.1.
Emergency shutdown (Emergency-Stop)
For an emergency shutdown (Emergency-Stop), switch off the kiln with the corresponding mains circuit breaker.
9.1.2.
Incident/Emergency
In the event of unusual incidents/emergencies, such as thick smoke or fire, shut down the kiln immediately
(emergency shutdown). After shutting down, keep the kiln closed and allow the kiln to cool naturally. Determine the
cause before any restart. The kiln may have become unusable as a result of the incident/emergency.
Behaviour in the event of fire:
Step
Action
1
Keep the kiln closed after it has been shut down.
2
Keep doors and windows closed.
3
Notify the fire brigade or trigger the fire alarm system.
4
Warn other people in the building.
5
If possible, use a fire extinguisher for initial firefighting.
6
Exit the building and wait for the fire brigade.
9.2.
Empty firing
9.2.1.
General information
NOTE
The empty firing does not replace the regular cleaning of the kiln and the firing
chamber.
More serious contamination should be removed as soon as possible so that it cannot burn
into the kiln insulation and the quartz glass tubes of the infrared heaters.
9.2.2.
Description
After 20 firings, always carry out an empty firing. The empty firing is necessary to remove contamination from the
kiln and to significantly extend the service life of the heating elements.
Remark
Protecting yourself and others takes
precedence over firefighting.
Make sure that other people also leave the
building.
