6.3.3.
Extension cable for connecting the control system
• If the bracket for the control system is not attached directly to the kiln but at the operating location (near the
kiln), the cable can be lengthened using an extension cable.
• The extension cable for the control systems is optionally available in lengths of 2.5, 5 or a maximum of 10
metres.
• Note on EMC:
The controller lead should not exceed 3 m in length to meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The
control system is mainly designed for use in trade and light industry, where electromagnetic interference may
cause a loss of accuracy of the displayed temperature reading of up to 3 °C.

General safety information
DANGER
Risk of serious personal injury, property damage and even death from an electric shock
when installing and connecting the kiln to electrical supply lines.
The kiln should only be installed and connected to the electrical supply lines by qualified
electricians.
WARNING
Risk of serious personal injury or property damage due to incorrect connection of the
kiln to the power supply.

Notes on the power connection
⇒ The mains voltage at the operating location must match the values specified on the nameplate of the kiln.
⇒ A separate power supply with its own fuse must be provided by a qualified electrician to operate the kiln in
workshops and similar environments.
⇒ An RCD residual current circuit breaker should be used for this (colloquially: RCCB or ELCB).
⇒ Under certain circumstances, an RCD residual current circuit breaker with a tripping current of 0.03 A may
tend to trip prematurely (e.g. due to room humidity or the moisture content of the ware).
⇒ A larger RCD residual current circuit breaker (0.3 A) can be selected as long as the selected circuit is used
exclusively for the kiln. However, this decision should always be made by a qualified electrician. If this
cannot be guaranteed, a permanent connection with its own fuse must be provided.
⇒ Only connect the kiln with the power cable supplied. Extension cables, multiple socket strips, distribution
socket strips, multiple plugs and similar may not be used.
⇒ Only connect the kiln to an earthed socket.
6.4.3.
Connecting the kiln
Insert the power cable with the plug into the suitably prepared power connection with earthing contact at the
operating location.
Make sure that the power supply is close to the kiln.
Do not use extension cables, multiple socket strips/distribution socket strips/multiple
plugs or similar.
Make sure the power cable does not touch the hot kiln.
