MAINTENANCE | CARE

DANGER OF BREAK AND ACCIDENTS!
• The bicycle requires regular inspection, maintenance and servicing. Only
this can ensure that it permanently complies with the safetytechnical re
quirements and works properly. Therefore, perform the test, care and
DANGER
maintenance instructions described in the individual chapters depending
on the frequency of use (but at least once per year).
• The screws and nuts installed on the bicycle must be checked for tight fit
at regular intervals (but at least every 3 months) and may need to be tigh
tened or retightened to the proper strength. Only this can ensure that the
bicycle permanently complies with the safetytechnical requirements and
works properly. This does not include the adjustment screws at the gear
shift and brake components.
• Perform the repair, maintenance and setting work only if you have enough
specialist knowledge and the corresponding tools. This specifically applies
to work on the brakes. Wrong or insufficient repair, maintenance and set
ting work may cause damage to the bicycle, malfunctions and therefore
accidents.
• The bicycle or the individual parts are exposed to partially high stress du
ring the duration of use, accidents or improper treatment. Any kind of
cracks, scratches and colour changes may indicate that the respective part
may suddenly fail. This specifically applies to bent or damaged safetyre
levant parts, such as the frame, fork, handlebar, stem, saddle, seat post,
luggage carrier, all brake components (specifically brake lever & brake li
nings), lights, foot pedal, wheels, tyres and tubes. Never repair such defec
tive parts, but replace them with genuine spare parts without delay.
• Use only genuine spare parts for exchange of parts, since they are specifi
cally coordinated with the bicycle and can ensure proper function. This
specifically applies to safetyrelevant parts, such as the frame, fork, hand
lebar, stem, saddle, seat post, luggage carrier, all brake components (spe
cifically brake lever & brake linings), lights, foot pedal, wheels, tyres and
tubes. If you use any thirdparty parts for exchange, this may lead to da
mage and failure of safetyrelevant parts.
