USE ON THE ROAD

Always comply with the national statutory provisions and traffic rules of the respective country
where you are using the bicycle. In Germany, these provisions are specified in StVZO and StVO.
Every participant in public transport must act in such a way which does not endanger, harm or
unavoidably disturb or hinder anyone else beyond the circumstances. Therefore, always ride fo-
resightedly and considerately. Take other road users into consideration.
You must only ride your bicycle on public roads and paths when it has the equipment legally re-
quired in your country.
In Germany, these requirements are specified in road traffic licensing regulation (Straßenver-
kehrs-Zulassungs-Ordnung; StVZO). According to the StVZO, a bicycle in Germany requires:
- two brakes that work independently of each other,
- a clearly audible bell,
- a functional front headlight and a tail light,
- spoke reflectors or reflecting side stripes on the rim or tyres,
- pedal reflectors,
- a white reflector facing forwards (if not integrated in the headlights),
- one red large-surface Z-reflector.

INTENDED USE

These bicycles are intended to be used on public roads and paved paths in their design and
equipment. The safety-technical equipment required for this is included and must be regularly
reviewed and, if necessary, repaired, by the user or a specialist.
Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer shall be liable for any use beyond this or non-observa-
tion of the safety-technical notes in these operating instructions and the damage that may hap-
pen because of this. This shall specifically apply to use of the bicycles off-road, at sports compe-
titions, in case of overload of any kind and improper removal of defects.
Intended use shall also include compliance with the operating, servicing and maintenance notes.
