1.3 Definition of terms and abbreviations
The following table provides definitions of terms and abbreviations used in this
document.

Definition
Instruments used with the guidance system in order to
achieve the intended use, facilitate its use or enable its
functions. For example: Trackers, instruments, calibra-
tion devices, adapters, etc. Refer to the user manual for
a list of accessories.
The computer and navigation camera system on which
the surgical software applications run.
Instrument that is used by the system to track the posi-
tion of a patient, an instrument or a C-arm fluoroscope.
The position is used to compute navigational informa-
tion, which is then displayed on the navigation screen.
