5.3 CHECKS AND TESTS BEFORE START-UP
This paragraph sets out the checks and controls that must be carried out on the product before initial start-up.
Check that the handle and harvesting head are properly tightened on the extension pole.
Check that on the extension pole clamp, the lever (8) is in the locked position.
CAUTION
Before starting the product, carry out an integrity check of all its parts, including the battery.
Before use (see par. 6), make sure, in addition to the suitability of the battery for the specific product
purchased, that the battery is fully inserted and locked, in order to avoid falls and/or damage to property or
persons.
5.4 DECOMMISSIONING
The following paragraph contains some tips and indications for the decommissioning, dismantling and
removal of the product at the end of its service life.
The following steps, as well as the instructions in the manuals of the components used, must be taken into
account when decommissioning.
The materials of which the product is made are essentially:
1) Painted, plastic-coated or galvanised ferritic steel;
2) Polyethylene plastic material;
3) Elastomers, PTFE, graphite;
4) Gear oil;
5) Motor;
6) Electrical cables with associated conduits;
7) Electronic control and actuation devices;
8) Pneumatic hoses and fittings. (only for pneumatic tools)
After dismantling the product, the various materials must be separated and disposed of in accordance with
the regulations of the country in which the product is to be disposed of.
The operations described below are only permitted to authorised personnel:
Create sufficient space around the product to perform all movements without risk to personnel;
Disconnect the product's power sources.
Only after the above activities have been carried out, proceed to disassemble the product from top down and
paying special attention to the assemblies subject to falling by gravity.
Remove moving parts and separate, as far as possible, the various components by type of material
(plastic, metal, etc.), which must be disposed of through separate collection. Entrust the disposal of
demolition materials to the companies in charge.
Remove and handle the various parts of the product from the work area taking all necessary precautions
Always use the appropriate PPE for such operations and as indicated in Chapter 4.
After disassembling the product according to the previous procedure, the various materials must be
separated and disposed of in accordance with the regulations of the country in which the product is to be
disposed of. The product contains no hazardous components or substances requiring special removal
procedures.
CAUTION
Extreme care must be taken because the possible falling of parts or components during removal can pose a
serious danger to operators.
