Configuring (programming) decoder settings
Make sure you do not exceed the valid value range of the decoder when entering the
numeric value in the CV! If needed, refer to the operating manual of the decoder.
CV7 (version number) and CV8 (manufacturer identification) can only be read out, but
not entered.
13.3.5 Reading out and programming a register
The register mode is besides the CV mode a possibility to change
settings in locomotive decoders.
Strictly speaking, it is the "original" technique used to make decoder
settings in the DCC system. This method was replaced more than 20
years ago by better CV programming.

If necessary, turn the knob until "Program
register" appears ...

prompted to enter the register whose value
you want to read or change.

key to correct your entry if
necessary)
... and confirm the entry by pressing the
'Loco' key.
The register is now read out immediately ...
