Make sure that the fuel level in
the fuel tank is lower than the
bottom of the carburetors.
Otherwise, the vibration and
bumps from the road surface
could make it possible for fuel
to flow through the carburetors
into the crankcase. This can
result in "hydrostatic lock," a
condition where the engine
cannot rotate because of fuel
accumulated in the engine.
Severe engine damage can
result from hydrostatic lock.
When possible, the fuel tank
should be empty during trans-
portation, especially if the trip
will be longer than 30 minutes.

If transporting the snowmobile
in an open trailer or truck, put
a tight fitting cover on the
snowmobile. A cover specifi-
cally designed for your snow-
mobile is best. This will help
keep foreign objects out of the
cooling vents in the shroud,
and also help protect the
snowmobile against damage
from debris on the road.

Veiller à ce que le niveau de car-
burant dans le réservoir soit infé-
rieur au fond des carburateurs. En
effet, les vibrations et les chocs
pourraient provoquer l'écoule-
ment du carburant dans les carbu-
rateurs et puis dans le carter. Cela
pourrait provoquer un blocage
hydrostatique, c.-à-d. un blocage
du moteur en raison de sa satura-
tion de carburant. Ce blocage hy-
drostatique peut gravement en-
dommager le moteur. L'idéal est
de complètement vider le réser-

demi-heure.

Couvrir la motoneige d'une
housse tendue lorsqu'on la trans-
porte dans une remorque ou dans
une benne ouverte. Une housse
sur mesure constitue bien sûr la
meilleure protection. De cette fa-
çon, crasses et objets ne pourront
pénétrer dans les admissions d'air
de refroidissement et la moto-
neige sera protégée des projec-
tions éventuelles.

Ricoprire la motoslitta con un
telone aderente se questa vie-
ne trasportata su un rimorchio
o camion scoperto. Un telone
su misura costituisce la miglio-
re protezione. In questo modo
si impedirà a sporcizia ed og-
getti estranei di penetrare nel-
le aperture di ventilazione. La
motoslitta verrà inoltre protetta
contro i danni derivanti dal pie-
trisco sulla strada.
