15.10. Further possible functions
with the ACRO model type
15.10.1. Combi-Switch
Just like their full-size counterparts, many models -
especially gliders - are only able to fly smooth turns
with co-ordinated use of ailerons and rudder. The
combi-switch combines (couples) ailerons and rudder,
making it easier for modellers to fly accurate turns in
normal flight. For thermal flying and aerobatics the
combi-switch is not generally used.
The combi-switch mixer itself can be switched on and
off at any time using the "CS/A-ROT" switch (switch
position ON).
You can set the following rate in the COMBI menu. The
available range is -200% to 200% in 5% increments.
The prefix determines the direction of following. In most
cases the model's rudder deflects when the aileron
stick is operated, i.e. the aileron function is the "mas-
ter". To achieve this the values must be set with a posi-
tive prefix (+). A following rate of 100% means that full
aileron deflection produces full rudder deflection. A
following rate of 200% means that full rudder deflection
is achieved when the aileron stick is only at half-travel.
Moving to the Menu COMBI menu:
to MENU,
to MIXER,
to COMBI,
The current percentage figure flashes. You can now set
the value within the range -200% to +200% using the
3-D digi-adjustor.
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The value is stored.
15.10.2. Push-button fixed values
(automatic aerobatics)
) FIX
CONTRL
Menu: (
Note: not available in Trainer mode
The FIX function is not available when the C
is used as a Teacher transmitter (TEACHER = 1), as
the FIX button is used as the Trainer switch .
The "Fixed value for transmitter control" function en-
ables the pilot to move the rudder, elevator and ailer-
ons to a pre-programmed position just by pressing the
FIX button.
This makes it possible to fly manoeuvres such as snap
rolls automatically, simply by pressing a button. It is
also useful for SAL (Side Arm Launch) HLGs, where
the launch settings can be available by button-press.

Operating Instructions
The function is programmed in two stages:
• Activating the FIX function
• Setting the values for aileron, elevator and rudder
Notes:
Caution with flight phases
If you have activated flight phases (
three values for each control surface. The model could
respond differently in each phase. If this is not what
you want, all the values must be set identically.
Transmitter controls have no effect
If you have programmed a fixed value and you press
the FIX button, the associated sticks (aileron, elevator,
rudder) have no effect until you release the button.
Activating FIX:
to MENU,
to CONTRL,
to FIX,
The current value flashes. You can now use the 3-D
digi-adjustor to select the following:
FIX 0 = function switched off
FIX 1 = function activated, button (FIX effective)
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The value is stored.
This is the procedure for setting the fixed values:
If you now turn the 3-D digi-adjustor to the right, you
will find the three menus for FIX A (Aileron), FIX E
(Elevator) and FIX R (Rudder).
Starting from the INFO display, move to the FIX Q
H S menus as follows:
to MENU,
to CONTRL,
to FIX Q FIX H FIX S
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor opens the value
for you to adjust. The value flashes.
Hold the FIX button pressed in, and use the 3-D digi-
adjustor to set the desired control surface travel. The
changes you make take immediate effect on the model.
A further brief press
cludes the process. The value is stored.
You can now switch to the fixed value for the next
transmitter control, or leave the menu via EXIT.
