16.3.8.
Setting up Throttle Check
Warning: "TH >0"
What is Throttle Check?
Throttle Check is a safety query of the throttle control.
This function avoids the danger of power systems
bursting into life unexpectedly when you switch the
model on, endangering you and others.
How does Throttle Check work?
If the Throttle Check function is activated (= 1), the
transmitter checks whether the throttle control (speed
controller) is at the idle or "motor off" setting every time
the transmitter is switched on, and when you switch to
a different model memory.
If that is not the case, the screen displays the message
"TH >0" ("Throttle setting higher than 0").
The warning appears under the following conditions:
a.
DTC (Direct Throttle) is switched on, AND
the right-hand slider (throttle limiter / direct throttle
control) are not at the idle position.
In this case the position of the collective pitch stick
has no influence.
b.
DTC is switched off, AND
the right-hand slider (throttle limiter / direct throttle
control) is not at the idle position, AND
the COLLECTIVE PITCH stick is not at minimum.
Note: throttle stays at minimum!
As long as the warning "TH >0" is visible on the
screen, the throttle channel (servo 5) is held at the
throttle minimum setting in the interests of safety.
You can by-pass the warning with a brief press on the
3-D digi-adjustor. Nevertheless, the throttle channel
remains at minimum in the interests of safety.
The throttle channel is only activated when you move
the throttle limiter to the minimum setting. It then res-
ponds to the limiter and / or the collective pitch stick.
We recommend:
Throttle check is always active by default when you set
up a new model (THRCHK = 1).
Don't switch Throttle Check off unless you are sure that
it is not dangerous to switch the model on "with throttle"
(glow motor, speed controller with power-on guard).
Moving to the TH CHK menu:
to MENU,
(MODEL appears),
to TH CHK,
The current setting "0" or "1" flashes.
(SETUP appears),
(MODE appears),
Operating Instructions
You can change the setting using the 3-D digi-adjustor:
THRCHK = "0": no Throttle Check
THRCHK = "1": Throttle Check active
A brief press
on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
setting process. The selected setting is now stored.

16.4. Setting up the swashplate servos

Secure the model before switching on the receiving
system. This avoids possible danger or damage
caused by unexpected reactions from the model when
you are changing transmitter settings.
! Electric helicopters: disconnect the motor!
The following procedure has proved effective when
setting up the servos.
Helicopter without electronic swashplate mixing
(Type 0):
In this case you can check the direction of travel for
each control function (COLLECTIVE PITCH, ROLL,
PITCH-AXIS) separately, and make corrections where
necessary by reversing the servos.
Helicopter
with
(Types 1 to 4 and -1 to -4):
• Check and correct the direction of rotation of the
swashplate servos for collective pitch
• Check the direction of rotation of the swashplate
servos for roll and pitch-axis
• Set the centre and travels of the swashplate
servos
16.4.1.
Checking and correcting the direction of
rotation of the swashplate servos for
COLLECTIVE PITCH
First set the collective pitch stick to centre. The swash-
plate should now be approximately horizontal, and in
the centre of its range of travel.
Move the collective pitch stick towards minimum. All
the swashplate servos should now move down (at
least, this applies to the majority of helicopters).
If any servo rotates in the wrong direction, correct it in
the SERVO REV menu.
Brief instructions: reversing servos (REV):
to MENU, ,
Select servo
to REV,
,
REV = 0: normal direction of rotation
REV = 1: reversed direction of rotation

Checking the direction of rotation of the
swashplate servos for ROLL and PITCH
Once the swashplate is moving correctly in response to
the collective pitch stick, the movements for ROLL and
PITCH-AXIS should also be correct:
