The robotic mower must run completely
within the mowing area and must not touch
the obstacle.
The minimum clearance between wires in
confined areas is double the distance of
C (54 cm, of 2 iRuler lengths or the
machine width.) (
12.6)
D – 2 cm
Measure the height of
obstacles. The robotic mower
can cross low obstacles such as
paths if the stepped area is not too high.
The step in the iRuler corresponds
precisely to this height.

≤ 2 cm (e.g. paths that can be travelled on,
patios):
Route the perimeter wire without
clearance to the obstacle.
Take care not to damage the
perimeter wire when tending to the
lawn edge. If necessary, install the
perimeter wire at a slight distance
(2-3 cm) from the lawn edge.
> 2 cm:
Route the perimeter wire at distance C
(27 cm).
If necessary, set the cutting height
so that the mowing deck of the
robotic mower does not hit the
obstacles.
If the lowest cutting height is set,
the robotic mower can
consequently only clear lower
stepped areas than specified.
12.6 Confined areas
If a confined area is installed in the
mowing area then offset drive home
(passage) must be deactivated.
(
11.14)
The robotic mower travels automatically in
all confined areas, provided the minimum
wire clearance is maintained. Narrower
areas of the mowing area must be blocked
off through appropriate routing of the
perimeter wire.
If two mowing areas are linked via a
narrow passage that can be travelled on, a
corridor can be installed. (
Minimum wire clearance: 54 cm
This corresponds to 2 iRuler lengths or the
machine width.
This results in the following space
requirements in confined areas:
– between high obstacles (> 2 cm –
e.g. walls, hedges):
108 cm
– obstacles which can be travelled on (≤
2 cm – e.g. paths, patios):
54 cm
12.7 No-go areas
No-go areas have to be installed
– around obstacles that the robotic
mower must not touch
