Aufbau der Startpackung
Schienen aufbauen
Das Märklin-K-Gleis bietet eine Vielzahl
an Gleisen mit unterschiedlichen Längen,
Radien oder Funktionen an. Die gebogenen
Gleise aus dieser Startpackung besitzen
den Standard-Radius 360 mm bzw.
424,6 mm bei den Gegenbögen für die
Weichen. Diese Radien zeichnen sich
durch Raumökonomie bei gleichzeitig
sehr guter Betriebssicherheit aus. Selbst
lange Märklin-H0-Personenwagen oder
lange Märklin-H0-Dampflokomotiven kön-
nen diesen Radius befahren. Der zusätz-
lich angebotene, engere Industrieradius ist
nicht für alle Märklin-H0-Modelle geeignet.
Der Schienenabstand bei diesen Standard-
radien liegt bei 64,6 mm. Für einen rei-
bungslosen Betrieb sollte dieser Gleis-
abstand nicht unterschritten werden. Der
Gleislänge der geraden Gleise liegt ein
Längenraster von 36 cm zu Grunde.
Durch entsprechende Ausgleichsstücke
kann diese Länge, die 2 geraden Standard-
Gleisen 2200 entspricht, in fast allen Fällen
erreicht werden.

Beim K-Gleis dienen die Mittelpunktkon-
takte als Hinleiter und die beiden Schienen
als Rückleiter für die Leistungsversorgung
der Lokomotiven. Dadurch ist das K-Gleis
ein symmetrisches Gleissystem. Auch der
Aufbau von Kehrschleifen oder sonstigen
aufwendigeren Gleisfiguren kann problem-
los ohne zusätzlichen Schaltungsaufwand
erfolgen.
Das K-Gleis kann entweder fest auf einer
Modellbahnanlage oder „fliegend" zum
Beispiel auf einem Boden aufgebaut wer-
den. Ein Teppichboden ist jedoch unge-
eignet, da Teppichflusen sonst in das
Getriebe der Loks gelangen und dort
Schäden verursachen kann.
Beim Zusammenstecken der Gleise immer
darauf achten, dass die Schienenverbinder
richtig gesteckt sind. Gleiches gilt für die
Mittelleiterverbindung. Achten Sie auch
darauf, dass die Mittelleiterverbindung
nicht verbogen ist und im Extremfall einen
Kurzschluss zum Gleis bildet.
Tipp: Durch Unterlegen eines Taschen-
spiegels können Sie die einwandfreie
Mittelleiterverbindung überprüfen, ohne
das Gleis umdrehen zu müssen.

Setting Up Track
The Märklin K Track offers wide variety of
track sections with different lengths, radii
or functions. The curved track in this
starter set have the standard radius of
360 mm / 14-3/16" or 424.6 mm / 16-3/4"
for the complementary curve for the turn-
outs. These radii take up a minimum of
space and at the same time offer very good
operating reliability. Even long Märklin H0
passenger cars or long Märklin H0 steam
locomotives can negotiate these curves. The
sharper industrial radius that is also offered
is not suitable for all Märklin H0 models.
The track spacing for these standard radii
is 64.6 mm / 2-1/2". The track spacing
on your setup or layout should not be less
than this amount in order to have trouble-
free operation. The standard unit of length
for straight track is 36 cm / 14-3/16".
This length is the same as two standard
straight sections of track, item no. 2200,
and this length can be achieved in almost
all situations with the appropriate adjust-
ment track sections.
With K Track the center stud contacts
serve as the power conductor to loco-
motives and the two running rails serve as
the ground return from the latter. This makes
K Track a symmetrical track system. You
can include reverse loops or other complex
track configurations with no problem and
without the need for additional circuits.
K Track can be mounted permanently
on a model railroad layout or can be set
up temporarily on the floor. A setup on a
carpet is not suitable, because carpet
fibers can get into the locomotive mecha-
nisms and cause damage to the loco-
motives.
When putting track sections together
always make sure that the rail joiners are
pushed on to the adjoining track properly.
The same holds true for the center con-
ductor connection. Make sure that the
conductor connection is not bent such
that it can cause a short circuit in the
track in extreme cases.
Tip: By placing a small mirror under the
track you can check to make sure the
center conductor connection for the
track is correctly made without having
to turn the track over.
