15.6 Factory default settings
15.6.1 Unchangeable settings for relays, LEDs,
and alarms
Setting
Fault relay:
Energized / normally open
Yellow LED:
Lights up when an error message is
present
Red LED:
Flashes once when an A1 alarm is
present. Flashes twice when an A2
alarm is present. If an alarm is config-
ured as acknowledgeable and the
alarm has been acknowledged, the
LED stops flashing once or twice and
lights up continuously.
Alarm hierarchy:
A2 has higher priority than A1 at the
LED. However, the A1 and A2 relays
operate independently of one another.
Example: If A1 is acknowledgeable and
A2 is not and the gas concentration is
so high that A1 and A2 are triggered,
relay A1 drops out when the alarm is
acknowledged. However, the red LED
continues to flash twice as long as the
condition that triggers alarm A2 exists.
Alarm hysteresis:
5% of the full scale deflection
15.6.2 Fixed setting: capture range
15.6.2.1 Capture range
The capture range blanks out measurement fluctuations.
Measurement fluctuations are minor variations in measured
values (such as signal noise, variations in concentration).
Those variations do not change the transmitted or displayed
value. Measured values within this range will be displayed
with the capture value. Measured values outside the capture
range will be displayed with the actual measured value.
Capture value (offset)
The capture value is displayed continuously, as long as the
measured value ranges between the upper and lower capture
value limits.
Upper capture value limit
The upper capture value limit marks the upper limit of the
range in which the capture value is displayed.
Lower capture value limit
The lower capture value limit marks the lower limit of the
range in which the capture value is displayed.

For Polytron 5xx0 transmitters, the capture range cannot be
changed. It is pre-set by the sensor. The capture range can be
deactivated with the Dräger Polysoft PC software.
