REGARD 3000 ist eine modular aufgebaute Auswerteeinheit für Gas- und Feuerwarnsysteme. Die Auswerteeinheit besteht aus einer Docking Station, die bis zu 3 Module aufnehmen kann. Beim REGARD 3000 handelt es sich um ein System mit verteilter Intelligenz. Jedes Modul verfügt über die für seine Funktion notwendige Intelligenz.

Systemstörung führt zum Abfallen (normally energized) des jeweils auf der Docking Station befindlichen Fehlerrelais. Anlagen mit Anforderungen nach SIL3 lassen sich mit REGARD 3000 durch den Aufbau mit redundanten Kanälen realisieren und sind nur in Verbindung mit einem REGARD 7000 möglich.

Display Unit dargestellt werden und über ein Gateway-Modul an übergeordnete Leitwarten weitergegeben werden. Einschränkungen des Verwendungszwecks REGARD 3000 ist nicht konzipiert für den Einsatz in der Prozesssteuerung. Das REGARD 3000-Netzwerk darf nur für die REGARD 3000-Kommunikation verwendet werden.
