Figure 26
Due to the cartridge remaining in its seat for a long time and/or to the presence of sediment, the force needed to extract the cartridge
might be such as to damage the accessory tool. In this case it is intentional, because it is preferable to damage the tool rather than
the cartridge. If the key is lost or damaged, the same operation can be performed with pliers.
Should one or more O-rings be lost or damaged during maintenance operations on the non-return valve, they must be replaced.
Otherwise the system might not work correctly
12.4 Motor shaft
The electronic control of the system ensures smooth starts so as to avoid excessive stress on the mechanical parts and thus prolong the life of
the product. In exceptional cases this characteristic could cause problems in starting the pump: after a period of inactivity, perhaps with the system
drained, the salts dissolved in the water could have settled and formed calcification between the moving part (motor shaft) and the fixed part of
the pump, thus increasing the resistance on starting. In this case it may be sufficient to help the motor shaft by hand to detach itself from the
calcifications. In this system the operation is possible because access to the motor shaft from outside is guaranteed and a groove is provided at
the end of the shaft. Proceed as follows:
1.
remove the motor shaft access cap as in Fig.26;
2.
insert a straight tip screwdriver in the groove on the motor shaft and manoeuvre, turning in 2 directions;
3.
if it turns freely, the system can be started;
4.
if rotation is blocked it cannot be removed by hand, call the assistance service.
12.5 Expansion Vessel
See paragraph 3.2 for the operations to check and adjust the air pressure in the expansion vessel and to replace it if it is broken.
13. UPDATING THE E.SYBOX FIRMWARE
13.1 General
This chapter describes how to update one or more e.sybox units when you have an e.sybox or an e.sylink with more recent firmware.
As already illustrated in the manual par. 11.4.2, to use the e.sybox in a pumping set with a wireless connection, the e.sybox firmware versions
must all be the same. If the e.sybox units in the group to be created have different firmware versions, it is necessary to make an update in order
to align all the versions.
The update may also be useful to have new firmware available which adds functions or solves problems.
Definitions used below:
Master: device from which a firmware is taken to load it in an e.sybox. The function may be fulfilled by an e.sybox, an e.sylink or any other
device enabled for downloading firmware to an e.sybox.
Slave: e.sybox in the state of receiving a firmware update.
For updates performed with DConnect Box see the respective manual.
13.2 Updating the firmware
The firmware can be updated by means of another e.sybox or by e.sylink.
Depending on the firmware versions present and on the device available for programming (e.sybox or e.sylink) different procedures may be
used.
During the firmware update the e.sybox and the e.sylink involved cannot carry out pumping functions. During the update the Slave e.sybox
shows the message "LV LOADER v2.x" and a bar indicating the progress of the update. The update takes about 1 minute. At the end of this
phase the e.sybox will restart.
