7.2 RESECTION ON THE PATIENT

ACTIONS
1. Check the equipment before every use
• It is essential to make sure that the equipment is
perfectly clean, and that it presents no debris, particle,
oxidation or deposit.
2. Connect the CB turbine to the console
• Check the pressure delivered by the console at the
turbine (operating range between 2.5 and 3.5 bars).
3. Check the oscillation of the blade
• Activate the turbine to check that the blade is properly
engaged and oscillates correctly.
• Check that the CBm-ALTK or CBSU head slides freely
in the ring (do one test pass with the turbine in the
ring of the chamber before placing the graft, or on the
suction ring of the recipient eye before placing it on the
eye).
4. Position the suction ring on the patient
• Once the steps have been carried out to install and
connect the elements, position the suction ring on the
patient's eye.
• Activate the vacuum and check that the ring is properly
centered and held on the eye.
• Check the intraocular pressure with a tonometer.
Moria recommends a pressure of 60mmHg.
• Lubricate the suction ring, the head and the blade.
5. Activate the oscillation of the blade and perform the
resection
• Once the microkeratome is in position, activate the
vacuum and the oscillation of the blade by pressing and
holding down the "Avance / Forward" pedal.
• Rotate the microkeratome gently and smoothly by hand
until a free corneal flap (or "free cap") is created.
6. Release the vacuum by pressing once on the "Vide /
Vacuum" pedal.

8 IN THE EVENT OF A PROBLEM

For further information and addition descriptions, see the user guide for EVOLUTION 2, 3 or 3E and/or the
user guide for the ALTK artificial chamber for microkeratomes ONE & CBm-ALTK and single-use artificial
chamber.

9 MAINTENANCE

The recommendations for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization are updated and available on Moria's

9.1 INTRODUCTION

If there is unusual vibration or abnormal noise, do not use the equipment and contact the Moria representative.
The following are only recommendations. They must be adapted to the regulations in the country in which
WARNINGS / PRECAUTIONS
• See the user guide for the console employed before
use.
• Do not use the turbine if the blade does not oscillate
smoothly and continuously.
• Before use, lubricate the various elements with
physiological serum or any other appropriate
ophthalmic solution.
• The equipment must not be in contact with a solution
with unknown interactions.
• Check that the equipment does not interfere with other
medical equipment used during the surgery.
• The tonometer (#19042) must be perfectly dry and
must be used on a dry surface.
• See the user guide for the console used.
• See the ALTK artificial chamber user guide for
microkeratomes ONE & CBm-ALTK (#65009) before
use.
• See the selecting guide for CBSU heads for artificial
chambers (#65082).
• Check that nothing interferes with the movement of the
head in the ring sliding guides of the artificial chamber.
• For the recipient, make sure that there are no
obstructions to the movement of the head (speculum,
eyelash, eyelid, etc.).
• At the end of the procedure, discard the CBm blade or
single-use head (CBSU) as well as the vacuum tube,
into an appropriate container.
