Structure and Function
The IPS® Implants Forearm Reconstruction drill and marking guide is intended for pre-drilling at the
position and in the angle planned before the procedure. Furthermore, the intended saw cut is marked using
the guide.
The IPS® Implants Forearm Reconstruction implant consists of an additively manufactured plate with holes
for the fixation of the implant using screws.
Fault effects, such as unintended reflections of the patient-specific implant, must be excluded by
thoroughly checking the patient data. The case planning document must be available at the time of this
check. Faulty implants must not be used.
All implant components and tools of the system, as well as the osteosynthesis materials for anchoring, must
be available in sterile, ready-to-use condition. The user determines the type of fixation based on the
respective load situation, the anatomical circumstances and the general surgical situation.
A comprehensive range of suitable osteosynthesis screws by Gebrüder Martin is available for fixation of the
patient-specific implants on the patient. These can be found in the brochure of the ulna shortening and
radius reconstruction system Recos® 90-995-01-08. Where appropriate, the information from the case
planning regarding the screws to be used must be considered. All materials used that come into contact
with the patient's or user's body have a good biological compatibility according to DIN EN ISO 10993-1.
