Application

• Clean and sterilize the instruments before each use, see section 5 "Processing, Cleaning,
Disinfection and Sterilization", page 27.
Bipolar scissors comprise high-quality ceramic parts that must be treated with special care
•
and protected from breaking.
Before each use, check the instrument for damage and completeness (the protective cap
•
over the instrument joint can loosen due to improper cleaning).
Carefully check all blades and tips as well as all movable parts, the insulation and ceramic
•
elements for visible damage (e.g. cracks, breakage or insulation defects) and wear.
Defective or incomplete instruments must not be used!
•
Do not use these products in the presence of flammable or explosive substances!
•
During use, the branches of the bipolar scissors may be cleaned only with a moist swab.
•
Check the function of the instrument prior to each application (e.g. on a swab saturated
•
with physiological saline).
• The coagulation current is activated using the foot switch of the electrosurgery device. It is
not recommended to activate the electrosurgery device using automatic activation.
Observe all instructions and safety notes of the manufacturer of the electrosurgery device.

WARNING
Peril to life or danger of serious physical injury by to prion infection!
Destroy instruments immediately after potential contact with prions and do not use
again under any circumstances. There is risk of contamination with Creutzfeldt-Jakob
Disease (CJD)!
WARNING
Risk of electric shock and/or burns due to the automatic activation function of the
electrosurgical device!
Triggering of an automatic system or unintentional actuation of an activation element can
cause uncontrolled activation of HF current.
