5.7.2 FITTING THE SAW BLADE
IMPORTANT!
Follow the blade manufacturer's
instructions, especially the max number
of rpm. After fitting the blade, the riving
knife will have to be fitted for the
diameter in use according to the
technical specifications-
For countries belonging to the EEC,
the tools used on the machine must be
in conformity with EN 847-1edit.1997
standard. Make sure the tool is sharp,
selected, serviced and adjusted in
conformity with the manufacturer's
instructions. All tampering is forbidden.
Wear light leather gloves when
handling tools.
RIVING KNIFE MARKINGS
The thickness of the riving knife and the
diameter interval of the blade that can
be used with it are permanently marked
on the riving knife. The width of the
fitting groove is permanently indicated
on the riving knife.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE
CIRCULAR BLADES
The maximum and minimum diameter of
the blade and relevant hole for the
spindle, for which the machine is
designed, are permanently marked on
the machine.
To perform this operation, proceed as
follows:
FITTING AND REMOVING THE SAW
DISC
FIG. 5.8 , 5.9 , 5.10 , 5.11
Disconnect the machine from the power
mains and remove the socket, indicating
the operation in progress.
Position the sliding carriage on the right
side of the machine, entrance side.
Insert the key 1 (fig. 5.8) as indicated
and loosen the locknut 2 by turning
clockwise: used the fixed 27 mm wrench
and the allen key from 8mm. After
removing the nut, remove the flange 3
(fig. 5.13).
To fit the blade, proceed as indicated
below.
Fit the blade 4 (fig. 5.9), the flange 3 and
the nut 2 in sequence.
Tighten the nut by turning anti-
clockwise.
The operations to fit up the scorer are
tyhe same: 5 (fig. 5.10-5.11) move the
carriage on the left side, exit side, fit the
locking rod 10 in the seat of the scoring
spindle, loosen the locking nut, rotating
anti-clockwise,11 and use fixed key from
17mm. Taken out the nut remove the
flange 12 and the washer.
For the assemblage of the blade to
proceed as described following.
To climb on in sequence the blade 5, the
flange 12 the washer and the die 11.
Lock the nut on clockwise sense.
In the same way, proceed to fit the
scoring blade 5 (fig. 5.10-5.11) moving
the carriage from the left, exit side. The
teeth of the scorer blade most be
opposite those of the main blade: the
directions of blade rotation are
indicated on the guard 9 (fig. 5.11).
To adjust the scorer blade with respect
to the blade, proceed as described
below:
-
to lift/lower the scorer blade, insert
the 4 mm hexagonal key in the hole
6;
-
to align the scorer blade and the
main blade, loosen the retention
dowel and insert the hexagonal key
in the hole 7; by turning the dowel in
the hole 8, the desired alignment
can be obtained. After completing
the operation, tighten the retention
dowel.
IMPORTANT!
disconnect the machine from the power
mains by padlocking the master switch
and indicating that work is in progress
before carrying out any maintenance
and/or adjustments.
