Cleaning and replacing the spark plugs (fig. 75)
Spark plugs are essential to smooth engine running and
should be checked at regular intervals.
0,6÷0,7 mm
This operation also provides an indication of engine
condition.
Have the spark plugs checked and replaced (as required)
by a Ducati Dealer or Authorised Workshop, who will
check the colour of the ceramic insulator of the centre
electrode; a uniform light brown colour indicates good
engine condition. E
They will also inspect the centre electrode for wear and
check spark plug gap, which should be:
0.6-0.7 mm.

Important
If gap is too wide or too close, engine performance
will be affected. This could also cause difficult starting or
irregular idling.
