3 Product Description
3.1 General information
The MENNEKES accounting control unit (ACU) is used
for the communication with MENNEKES charging systems
for electric vehicles. To configure the charging systems, the
ACU serves as interface between the user's computer and
the socket control units (SCU) of the charging points.
An ACU can manage up to 16 SCUs and communicate with
a backend system via mobile or network connections.
An ACU is integrated in the charging columns Smart
and in the eMobility Gateway.
The MENNEKES socket control unit (SCU) is the link
between the higher-level accounting control unit (ACU), the
charging point, the vehicle and the charging system.
The SCU controls and monitors the charging process. The
SCU also reads the data of the RFID card reader and the
electricity meter. The SCU is configured through the ACU.
3.2 Function
The MENNEKES accounting control unit (ACU) carries
out the following operations:
Communication with the customer's backend.
Communicating with all connected SCUs and their
monitoring.
Network connection to a backend.
The ACU v3 supports GPRS
THE ACU v4 supports GPRS, UMTS and LTE
Updating the firmware of ACU and SCUs.
Configuring SCUs.
The ACU is connected via RS-485 bus with up to 16 SCUs.
The ACU can be connected to the network port of a
laptop / PC with a LAN cable:
The ACU v3 has an RJ45 LAN port
The ACU v4 has two RJ45 LAN ports
The ACU and SCUs connected to the ACU are configured
using the web interface in an Internet browser.
The MENNEKES socket control unit (SCU) carries out the
following operations:
Communication between vehicle and charging station.
Controlling the display / LED display and the LED of the
charging socket type 2.
Reading of the RFID card.
Controlling and monitoring the panel heating, flap lock,
connector lock, Schuko flap lock and load contactors.
Reading of meter data.
Communicating with higher-level ACU.
The SCU is connected to the ACU via RS-485 bus and
configured via its web interface. Each SCU in turn controls a
charging point .
