1.3.2 Installing the fuselage bulkheads
Trial-fit the two bulkheads in the fuselage, behind the skid bars; it must be possible to fix the two
brackets to them using M3 x 16 socket-head cap screws, and at the same time maintain the
skid bars in the correct position. The bulkheads must make good contact with the inside of the
fuselage, without pushing the moulding out of shape, or producing unsightly bulges. You will
probably have to sand back the corners of the rear brackets to provide clearance. Mark the
position of the bulkheads in the fuselage, roughen up the joint surfaces, and glue the front
bulkhead 1 in place. Check carefully that the bulkhead is correctly located; there should be
about 1 - 2 mm clearance all round the skid bars in the front and rear square openings.
Don't glue the rear bulkhead 4 in place at this stage; simply screw it to the skid bar for the
moment.
