Safety warnings for the operator/user
Hazards caused by electrical energy must be eliminated (for details see, for example, CENE-
LEC low-voltage installation standards or contact your local energy supplier). Risk of infec-
tion: These pumps convey media that may contain harmful substances. When working on the
pump, it is therefore important to avoid contact with the eyes and skin, and particularly with
the mouth. Immunization against potential illnesses is recommended. Suitable protective
clothing must be worn.
Before performing any work on the product, it must be ensured that all electrical
components of the system on which you are working are disconnected from the
power supply.
1.7
Safety information for assembly, maintenance, and inspection work
The operator is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance, inspection and installation
work is carried out by authorised personnel who are suitably qualified and have sufficient
knowledge of the system, gained through reading the installation and operating instruc-
tions thoroughly. Work must never be carried out on the system while it is in operation. All
safeguards and protective equipment must be refitted and/or restarted as soon as the work
is complete. Before re-commissioning, all points listed in the "Electrical connection" section
must be observed.
If it is necessary for a person to enter a shaft, cavity or container, effective venti-
lation must be provided to ensure that sufficient oxygen is available and that no
gases or explosive mixtures are present.
When climbing down, the following points must be strictly ensured in advance:
– The equipment for climbing in and out of the shaft/cavity/container is in a fully functional
state.
– The area of entry is marked and clearly shut off in accordance with specifications.
– There is no risk of explosion, before lowering electrical equipment into the shaft or working
with devices that may emit flames or sparks.
– All persons entering the shaft are equipped with a safety belt and rope.
– A second person is positioned outside the shaft who can pull the person in the shaft back
up immediately and call for help in the event of an emergency.
1.8
Unauthorised alterations and manufacture of spare parts
Pumps may only be modified or altered with prior agreement from the manufacturer.
Original spare parts and accessories authorised by the manufacturer are necessary to
ensure safety. Use of other parts may absolve the manufacturer of responsibility for the
consequences thereof.
1.9
Unauthorised operation
The operational safety of the pumps supplied can only be guaranteed if they are used as
described in the "Intended use" section of these installation and operating instructions. The
limit values specified in the "Operating limits" and "Technical data" sections must not be
exceeded under any circumstances.
