Motor/sensor cable
The connecting cables must not be shortened. Roll up the excess cable length
and hang without tension.
The cable markings/labelling at the end of the motor cable (connection-side)
must be followed in all cases.
Pumps with a shaft power (P1) less than 4 kW are designed for direct start (DOL) as standard.
This means that the switching of the motor coil is carried out internally in the motor with 3 con-
necting cable wires U, V, W leading out. Pumps with a shaft power (P1) greater than 4 kW are
prepared for star-delta start-up as standard, i.e. both ends of the motor coils are accessible via
the wire ends U1/U2, V1/V2 and W1/W2 of the connecting cable. The motors can be connected
to a star-delta control unit. Biral recommends that you perform delta switching of the motor
coil on the control unit and operate the pump using a soft-start control unit.

Connecting the pump to the control unit
Connect the pump cable to the control unit as described in the following diagrams. Note the
following:
– Ensure good contact.
– Do not clamp any insulation.
– Tighten the terminals and check that the cables are securely fixed.
