4.1.5 Spark plugs

Adjust the spark plug electrode gap or replace the spark plugs with new plugs if necessary.
1. Clean around the spark plug wells, to prevent debris or clogging particles from entering the engine.
2. Remove the spark plugs and check their condition. Replace the spark plugs if they are worn or if they are unlikely to be
reusable.
3. Check the spark plug electrode gap using a thickness gauge. Adjust the gap to 0.76 mm bending the earth electrode carefully.
See figures 4.3 and 4.4.
4. Reinstall the spark plugs into the cylinder head. Adjust the spark plug torque to 24.4-29.8 Nm (18-22 ft. lb.).
