2.3.3 Technical instructions for the exhaust

Never operate the generating set inside a building. Never operate the generating set in situations where the exhaust gases could
enter an occupied building through a window, ventilation duct or any other type of opening.
The exhaust line is complete for all generating sets installed outside. Do not install the generating set indoors.
Figure 2.10 indicates the exhaust gas flow and temperature at base load. The engine exhaust gases mix with cool air from the
generating set, on the exhaust side of the casing. Position the generating set so that exhaust gases are not expelled near sensitive
plants or inflammable matter. Observe the clearance values indicated in figures 2.7 and 2.9.

2.3.4 Technical instructions for the air

The generating set requires the correct flow of air for cooling and combustion. The air used for cooling and combustion flows
through the inlet and outlet ducts in the soundproofed casing. Figure 2.11 indicates the location of the cooling air inlet and outlet
grilles. Inspect the air inlet and outlet ducts on the inside and outside of the casing to ensure that there is nothing obstructing the
free flow of air.
