3.6. Controller power

The ADC 2100 or ADC-RES controller is supplied with electricity by the generating set's engine starter battery.
A jumper located at the rear of the ADC 2100 controller ensures a permanent supply of electricity. All ADC 2100 controllers are
supplied with the jumper fitted to ensure this permanent supply.
Note: The generating sets are factory fitted with a battery charger to avoid the battery discharging. The battery charger must be
connected to 230 VAC.

3.6.1 Standby Mode

When the generating set main switch is set to "AUTO" and the engine is not running, the controller is in standby mode. Hours of
operation are shown on the display. A remote start signal (closed contact) will start and run the generating set.
If there is no start signal for 48 hours, the controller can be set to go into sleep mode.

3.6.2 Sleep Mode

Controllers with application code version 1.13 or higher are shipped with the sleep mode disabled and J1939 communication
enabled. The controller will remain in standby mode whenever the generating set main switch is set to "AUTO" and the engine is not
running.
Note: The battery charger must be connected to utility power to prevent battery discharge.
Communication parameter Cn can be changed to disable communication and enable to sleep mode if remote communication is not
required. See section 2.3.12 for instructions to set parameter Cn.
The controller is automatically switched off after 48 hours of inactivity, provided that the controller communication is disabled and
the generating set's main switch is set to "AUTO". The controller display is dark and the battery power consumption is minimized.
The controller can be switched back on via a remote start signal (sent by a changeover switch or a remote on/off switch connected
to wires 3 and 4 of the controller), or by setting the generating set's main switch to "RUN".

4. Scheduled maintenance

Disconnect the generating set.
Danger of death or serious injury as a result of accidental starting.
Warning
Before carrying out any operations on the generating set or connected equipment, disconnect the generating set as follows:
(1)
Set the main switch to "OFF".
(2)
Isolate the battery charger from its electrical power supply.
(3)
Disconnect the battery leads, the negative (-) lead first. To reconnect the battery, reconnect the negative lead (-) last. This
procedure must be followed to prevent the generating set from starting accidentally, if the automatic changeover switch is
moved, if the remote on/off switch is activated, or if an engine start command is sent by a remote computer.
Refer to the maintenance schedules (see sections 4.1.1 and 4.1.2) and check the hours of operation indicated for the ADC 2100 or
ADC-RES controller to schedule periodic maintenance. Have the generating set maintenance operations performed by an approved
agent, at the intervals recommended by the maintenance schedule, throughout the service life of the generating set. Reduce the
service intervals for generating sets which are subject to extreme climatic conditions or those operated in atmospheres which are
dusty or full of particles, or operated for prolonged periods.
Contact an approved agent for spare parts.
