2.3.9 Accessories

2.3.9.1. Heating the carburettor

The generating set is fitted with a carburettor heating device in order to improve cold starting in areas where the ambient
temperature can be subzero. Heating can prevent condensation and ice forming on the carburettor. The heating device is switched
on when the thermostat temperature is below approximately 4°C and is switched off when the temperature rises above
approximately 16°C.
The thermostat on the heating device is integrated into the supply lead. Figure 2.29 indicates the location of the thermostat in the
supply lead.
Note: Do not place the thermostat inside the generating set's engine compartment. The thermostat must be placed outside, in the
open air.
Single-phase models (EC): Plug the carburetor heating device into an outlet that supplies continuous 230 VAC power.
Three-phase models (TEC): The carburetor heating device power is factory-connected to the battery charger.
