CAUTION
If there is no symbol of the crossed out waste bin on the machine, it means that its manufacturer is not in
charge of its disposal. In this case, the regulations in force about waste disposal always apply.
4.11.1 BATTERIES
Pursuant to Legislative Decree 188/2008 Italian transposition of Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries/battery packs
and related waste.
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the product or its packaging indicates that batteries, at the end of their
useful life, must be collected separately from other waste in order to allow proper treatment and recycling. The user
must therefore return the end-of-life equipment free of charge to the appropriate municipal separate collection
centres for electrical and electronic waste, or return it to the seller.
In addition to the symbol, batteries, accumulators and button cells containing more than 0.0005% mercury
(chemical symbol Hg), more than 0.002% cadmium (chemical symbol Cd) or more than 0.004% lead (chemical
symbol Pb) are marked with the chemical symbol for the respective metal.
The adequate separate collection of spent batteries and the following processing and eco-friendly disposal avoid
negative effects on health and the environment and allow recycling and/or reuse of the materials they are made of.
Unauthorised disposal of batteries, cells and accumulators by the user shall result in the application of penalties in
accordance with current legal regulations.
In the case of a battery contained in the 'appliance', and where the battery can be easily removed by the user, please
note that it is a mandatory requirement to comply with current legislation that the battery must not be disposed of as
municipal waste (Directive 2006/66/EC), being subject to separate collection to avoid damage to the environment.
The user must therefore return the spent battery-accumulator free of charge to the appropriate municipal separate
collection centres for electrical and electronic waste, or dispose of it in the containers provided at the points of sale.
