CAUTION
Do not use unsuitable or waste oil: This can damage blades and mechanical components.
CAUTION
Before lubricating the blades, it is imperative to meticulously clean them by removing any cutting residue
that could act as a contaminant and affect proper lubrication.
CAUTION
Failure to use lubrication can lead to blade seizure, excessive battery consumption, and damage to the
mechanical and electrical parts of the product.
7.1.4 SHARPENING THE CUTTING BLADES
NOTE: the sharpening activity must be carried out on the movable blade (3), while the fixed blade (which
acts as a counter-knife) is not subject to the sharpening process, unless its profile is altered (e.g. damage
caused by vineyard wire, etc.), in which case it must be restored or replaced.
Each time you sharpen, check that the fixed blade (2) is tightened correctly and if necessary adjust it using the App
Before proceeding with the sharpening of the cutting blade, the shears must be set up as shown below, making sure
that you have first put on the cut-resistant/puncture-proof gloves:
1) Open the blades to their maximum opening by operating the lever.
2) Switch off the shear.
3) Remove the battery/battery pack.
Once the shears have been prepared as indicated above, using the sharpening stone (A) in the supplied kit, proceed
as follows:
Clean any machining residues, scale, etc from the blade.
Sharpen the blade (3) from the inside to the outside of the cutting edge, as shown in the figure, and maintaining an
angle of approximately 45° during this activity.
Repeat this action several times along the entire cutting edge of the blade (3).
Once the blade has been sharpened, it is important to check the sharpness to ensure that it has been done
correctly. To do this, examine the blade edge in the light for dull or dents or signs of uneven sharpening.
Start the product as described in paragraph 6.2.1 and run a trial cut.
If the cut satisfies the operator's requirements, the operation is complete and work can be resumed.
Alternatively, repeat the steps starting from point 1).
CAUTION
With each sharpening, check that the blades overlap correctly when closing.
It is normally considered a correct overlap when the cutting blades in the closed position, across the entire profile,
overlap by approximately 2-4 millimetres.
