7.
MAINTENANCE
The maintenance operations described below serve to keep the product efficient and in good condition, with the aim
of preventing breakdowns or failures.
The term 'maintenance' includes the following activities:
➢
Preventive or routine maintenance
A set of interventions carried out at predetermined intervals or in accordance with prescribed criteria and aimed
at reducing the probability of failure or degradation in operation of a machine. Preventive maintenance includes
inspection, control, adjustment, cleaning and lubrication interventions.
➢
Specialist or extraordinary maintenance
Specialist maintenance is defined as all work carried out at predetermined intervals or following faults and
breakdowns, aimed at restoring operation of a machine. Specialist maintenance includes the overhaul, repair,
restoration of nominal operating conditions, or replacement of a faulty, defective or worn-out unit.
NOTE
:
PREVENTIVE AND SPECIALIST MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS CAN BE CARRIED OUT BY THE USER
OR BY THE MANUFACTURER'S TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTRES (T.A.C.), IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DATA SHEETS.
SOME SPECIALIST MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS, DUE TO THEIR COMPLEXITY, HAVE BEEN
DELIBERATELY OMITTED FROM THE MANUAL AND ARE TO BE CARRIED OUT EXCLUSIVELY BY
THE T.A.C., WHO HAVE THE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, DOCUMENTATION AND EQUIPMENT
NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITIES.
Directive 2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive) defines a maintenance technician as 'a person qualified to
install, operate, adjust and maintain a product'.
CAUTION
The frequency of maintenance and/or repair work must be:
A) Depending on the state of wear. Repair work is carried out after evaluation of the results of a
preliminary review, in order to prevent the unit in question from being damaged
B) after failure or deterioration. An overhaul, in the course of which the failure or deterioration is
determined, precedes repair.
The repair must be carried out after the results of the overhaul have been evaluated.
NOTE
THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS DURING THE
WARRANTY PERIOD OF THE PRODUCT IN THE EVENT OF LACK OF MAINTENANCE, LACK OF
LUBRICATION, REPLACEMENT WITH NON-ORIGINAL PARTS OR PARTS NOT AUTHORISED BY THE
MANUFACTURER AND USE OF THE PRODUCT IN A MANNER DIFFERENT FROM THAT INDICATED IN
THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL.
7.1 PREVENTIVE OR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
