No movement is obtained with this operation, but the pressure in the cylinders is
restored; the operations can be carried out after this initial phase.
Each time the machine remains disconnected from the pneumatic line for long periods,
check the direct operation of the controls with the relative arm, following the pressure
restoration procedure. Carry out the first control operation very slowly.
4. ARTIGLIO A 500 DESCRIPTION
ARTIGLIO A 500 is an electropneumatically operated universal tyre changer to change
car, off-road and light commercial vehicle tyres.
With A 500 any type of tyre with a rim from 12" to 32" can easily be broken, mounted and
demounted. Further improvements have been made:
- to reduce the physical exertion of the operator;
- to guarantee rim and tyre safety;
- to automate, as far as possible, operations that up until now have been manually per-
formed by the operator.
Thanks to this machine, any bead-breaking, demounting and mounting operations can
be performed on the above tyre types.
The wheel is kept horizontal at all times and always perfectly centred on the self-
centring device.
Wheel loading and unloading operations are made easier by an ergonomic lift which
makes the operator's job easier.
A strong point is the elimination of the bead-lifting lever.
The machine operates according to a totally innovative principle and envisages:
- A wheel positioning system that refers to the inside face of same and to the machine
turntable ( for rims with channel on inside, an optional reverse rim kit is available ).
- An effective manual wheel clamping system which, by means of pistol and cones exploits
the centre hole of the rim (for rims without hole an optional clamping kit is available.)
- Pneumatic bead breaker unit consisting of two bead-breaker disk arms. Vertical move-
ment is pneumatic and independent, controlled from the control panel. The horizontal
positioning of the disks is manual with pneumatic operation from the control panel
and permits the simultaneous positioning of the bead-breaker disks. Bead breaking is
ensured by the movement of the disk with controlled hold-to-run control.
- A tool head positioned on a rear-opening moving pole is made up of a fixed sup-
porting nucleus for mounting and a moving nucleus hinged to the fixed part for perfect
demounting without having to use the bead-lifting lever*
