NOTE: This procedure requires at least two people to attach the table tops and rotate
the patient and one person to monitor or stabilize the head during rotation.
8.5 Preparation For Rotation
8.5.1 The patient's head should be immobilized by means of skull traction or
with pillows and straps. The patient's head must be supported before,
during and after the 180-degree rotation.
8.5.2 If using leg boards on the spinal top during rotation, place two to three
pillows on the patient's knees and tibias.

8.5.3 Attach an upper H-frame to head end crossbar mounting stud and secure
with a T-pin (see Figure 46).

8.5.4 The spinal surgery top should be held stable by two attendants; one at each
end of the table. Attach the spinal top in the uppermost mounting hole of the
H-frame above the crossbar on the head end and secure with a T-pin.
8.5.5 The attendant at the foot end of the table must raise the foot end of the
spinal top so that the pads do not contact the patient. At this point, the
attendant can adjust the position of the chest, hip, thigh pads and leg
support to ensure proper placement when the patient is rotated.

8.5.6 Attach an H-frame to the foot end crossbar while surrounding the table top
