OPERATING THE RETRACTABLE HEAD SECTION

English
The head section telescopes from a first position suitable for
loading the cot into an emergency vehicle to a second position
retracted within the litter frame. When retracted, the cot can
roll in any direction on the caster wheels even in the lowest
position, allowing for improved mobility and maneuverability.
To extend the head section:
1.
Grasp the outer rail with one hand for support and pull the
handle (A), rotating the handle toward the head end of the
cot to release the head section from the locked position.
2.
While holding the handle (A) in the released position, pull
the head section away from the litter frame, lengthening
the head section until it engages in the fully extended
position.
3.
Release handle (A) to lock the head section in the
extended position.
To retract the head section:
1.
Grasp the outer rail with one hand for support and release
the handle (A), rotate the handle toward the head end
of the cot to release the head section from the locked
position.
2.
While holding the handle (A) in the released position,
push the head section toward the litter frame, retracting
the head section until it engages in the retracted position.
3.
Release handle (A) to lock the head section in the
retracted position.
WARNING
• To avoid injury, always verify that the head section is
locked into place prior to operating the cot.
• Do not attempt to load the cot into the patient compartment
with the head section retracted. Loading the cot with the
head section retracted may cause the product to tip or not
engage properly in the cot fastener, possibly causing injury
to the patient or operator and/or damage to the product.
