Instructions for Use
Flexible argon probes are used only with spray coagulation
current subject to visual control!
Always operate the fl exible argon probes using the blue
pedal on the foot switch!
To „ignite" the argon plasma, move the distal probe opening to within appro-
ximately 0.5 cm of the tissue. During the argon plasma coagulation proce-
dure („beaming"), this distance can be lengthened to between 2 and 2.5 cm
before the plasma is extinguished.
Use in fl exible endoscopy
Use the fl ow rate given for the respective application as given in the table:
932-048, 932-051, 932-148, 932-151
932-049, 932-052, 932-118, 932-149,
932-152, 932-153, 932-154
932-050, 932-150
Connection of the fl exible argon probes
Before beginning, ensure that the HF generator and the argon control unit
are ready for operation. The gas tank valve must be opened and the gas
supply suffi cient.
1. Remove the connection cable and fl exible argon probe from the
container so that they remain sterile.
2. Check the instrument visually for damage to the insulation and the
dista end of the fl exible probes. Do not use damaged instruments! BOWA
warns explicitly against repairing damaged sections. The instrument is
operated at high coagulation voltages! Any brown discoloration at the
distal end of the probe are due to the production process and does not
constitute dirt or any other impairment of the product.
3. Connect the 3-pin plug with the HF surgical device. Generators with
Plug'n Cut COMFORT can recognise BOWA COMFORT instruments
and automatically select the appropriate parameters.
4. Insert the desired fl exible argon probe with the plug into the coupling of
