Contra-indications
Do not cut metal stents.
Safety information
· Never apply the gas discharge jet of the flexible argon probe directly to
the tissue during gas activation.
· There is a risk of gas emphysema!
· The gas discharge jet should not be moved vertically over the tissue and
activated. An angle of approximately 45°C works well.
· Do not blow argon into the vascular system (risk of embolism!)
· For endoscopic applications the probe tip must project out of the endo-
scope during activation.
· High HF voltages are required for gas ionization: you must ensure that
the electrical insulation of the lines and applicators is intact.
· Attention! There is a risk of explosion and infection from endogenous
gases. The patient must undergo intestinal cleaning before endoscopic
procedures are carried out.
· Attention! Burn due to deflagration during bronchial use during ventilati-
DE
on with highly concentrated oxygen (100%). See study of HF surgery by
BfArM 2009.
· Electrode wires that project distally can lead to mechanical tissue injuries
EN
and damage operating gloves.
· The argon plasma application is a monopolar HF surgical applica-
tion; compliance with the safety rules for monopolar high-frequency
FR
surgery is required.
· Argon of grade 4.8 must be used.
ES
· The probe tips can be hot immediately after activation.
· There is a risk of burns!
IT
· Do not lay flexible probes on the patient.
· There is a risk of burns due to inadvertent HF activation!
PL
· Use only original BOWA accessories!
