13.7. Adjusting the door hinge
For the door of the kiln to seal optimally, it may be necessary to readjust the door hinge on the kiln casing.

Switch off the kiln and let it cool down.

Open the kiln door.

Loosen the bolts (2x) of the upper door hinge on the kiln casing.

Loosen the bolts a maximum of half a turn to one turn.
Valid for ELS 150-ELS 330:

Press the kiln door evenly against the kiln casing and align the kiln
door horizontally with the opening of the firing chamber.
4.2
Valid for ELS 480-ELS 1000:
There is also an adjusting screw on the side, which makes it easier
to adjust the horizontal setting on the heavy kiln doors of large-
volume kilns.

Then re-tighten the bolts on the door hinge.

Check whether the door rests evenly on the kiln casing and closes.
Make sure that the sealing cord (insulating cord) is correctly

positioned on the kiln door to the kiln casing.

During the adjustment, the weight of the kiln door must be supported properly.

Loosen the locknut and screw
the adjustment screw in or out.
⇒
Tighten the locknut again.
⇒
Hold the screw with a second
tool so that it does not twist
again, and the setting is lost.

must be supported properly.
• Never loosen the bolts of the
door hinge on the kiln door.
The door should rest evenly on the
