10.1 PATIENT POSITIONING
Note: The procedures described below are intended to illustrate one possible way of using the product. Follow the guidelines approved by your emergency medical service
when using the device.
In the case of the Wow injury transportation sheets, remove the rods and the side straps, opening the accessory pocket.
Lay the sheet next to the patient with the side with the yellow and black pattern facing up and the wider side facing the patient's head.
For Hirvin models, the side that should be facing up is the side with the smoothest PVC surface treatment.
Fold the sheet in half lengthwise.
The upper half of the sheet must be folded back to expose the yellow and black pattern.
Bring the sheet as close as possible to the patient lying on their back.
The operator on the folded side of the sheet helps the patient to turn on his/her side, thus turning his/her back to the sheet.
The operator on the opposite side pushes the sheet under the patient, having its midline coincide with the patient's spine.
After the patient has been returned to the supine position, he/she is turned onto the other side so that the free operator can grasp the handles of the sheet and spread it out.
Return the patient to the supine position.
When using the Wow sheet, the log roll manoeuvre can also be performed with the rods already in place, if necessary.
10.2 ROD INSERTION (WOW ONLY)
Open each rod, straightening it and inserting the narrowest part of each section into the next section until they are completely flush with each other.
Be careful when opening the rods: Crushing hazard.

10.3 APPLYING AND ADJUSTING SIDE STRAPS (WOW ONLY)
The side straps supplied help to reduce fatigue for the rescuers by distributing the load on the shoulders as well.

The side strap can be adjusted to 6 positions by changing the attachment loop on the spring catch with loop.
ES
In the picture, letter "A" indicates the loop for shorter operators. Letter "B" identifies the loop for taller operators. Each intermediate position corresponds to a variation in
height of the operator of approximately 5cm.
10.4 USING THE FOOTREST (IF PRESENT)
The footrest is an element of the device that limits the longitudinal movement of the patient.
After checking that the patient is correctly positioned, fold the lower end of the sheet over the patient's legs.
PT
Then hook the footrest spring catches to the lower or upper loop on the sides of the sheet (no. 4 and 5 par.8). Choose the loop that best suits the patient's height.
10.5 LIFTING THE PATIENT IN A SUPINE POSITION
After the operations described above have been performed, the patient can be lifted.
The number of operators must be proportionate to the weight to be lifted in accordance with occupational safety regulations.
RO
For Hirvin models, 4 operators should be placed on either side of the sheet so that they can safely grasp the handles and lift the sheet with the patient on it.
When using the Wow sheet, proceed as follows:
Two operators will stand on either side of the sheet looking down at the patient's feet and will place the side strap on the shoulder opposite to the patient's side, thus
distributing the weight over the entire spine.
CS
Caution: Do not place the side strap in such a way as to concentrate the load on the neck.

Insert the rods into the slots at the top of the sheet. To
lift the patient in a lying position, the rods should be
inserted along their entire length.

B
1. The shoulder strap has one end with an integrated small spring catch (no. 11 par.
8), and one free end. Attach one of the supplied spring catches to the lower loop
for attaching the side strap (no. 3 par. 8 and no.1 in the picture opposite).
2. Insert the strap into the second spring catch and attach it to the upper loop about
85 cm from the lower loop (no.2 picture opposite).
3. Then use the spring catch built into the side strap to secure it in the closed posi-
tion, choosing the loop most suited to your height (no.3 picture opposite).
2
In the case of tight spaces, the rods can also be inser-
ted through the holes immediately below the transver-
se strap located in the middle of the sheet and visible
from the patient's side.
