e) Connecting Driving Battery to the Speed Controller
Before connecting the driving battery to the speed controller, activate the transmitter (see chapter 10. c) and 10. d).
Also check that the speed controller is switched off
To prevent a sudden starting of the wheels and therefore an uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the
trimming for the drive is maladjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable surface (or starting box), so
that the wheels can turn freely in case of an error.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels
Now connect the driving battery to the speed controller.
f) Switching on and Programming the Speed Controller
First switch on the transmitter, see chapter 10. c) and 10. d), if you have not already done so! Only then connect the
driving battery to the speed controller (see chapter 10. e).
Only switch on your speed controller now.
You may have to programme your speed controller to set the neutral position or the full throttle positions for
forwards and reverse driving Observe the operating instructions of the speed controller
g) Checking Drive and Steering Functions
Before each operation of the car, check whether the settings at the transmitter are correct and whether the car re-
sponds correctly to the control commands.
As already described in chapter 10. e), the vehicle must be placed on a suitable surface (e.g. start box) so
that the drive and wheels can turn freely.
• Set the trim for the engine at your transmitter so that the engine does not move when the throttle/braking lever at the
transmitter is in its neutral position.
• Set the steering trim so that the front wheels are standing straight when the transmitter control wheel is in its centre
position.
If the trimming path is not sufficient, the servo lever must be adjusted on the servo axle (servo descent) or the servo
rot must be twisted between servo lever and steering lever.
• Check that steering reacts properly to your transmitter. Should the steering reaction be opposite, e.g. when using a
pistol-grip transmitter (wheel to the right, steering angle to the right), activate the steering reverse function at the
transmitter.
The same applies for forwards/reverse driving. If the speed controller has a brake function, you may have to not only
activate the reverse function, but also swap the two motor cables (between motor and speed controller).
For this, observe the operating instructions of your transmitter.
