h) Steering Servo
• First install the holder „HA1" with a tapping screw „S1" and the
washer „BS".
• The steering servo (not included in the delivery) is then attacked
to the holder „HA1" and the chassis with four screws M3x12mm
(„S8").
Servo descent is directed to the rear axle, also see figure to the
right below.
If rubber rings are included with your servo, insert them into the
fastening holes of the servo before screwing on the servo. Such
rubber rings are used for protecting the servo from vibration or
gear overload.
• The included servo saver is installed on the servo drive (consisting
of parts „SA1" to „SA4").
First plug the part „SA1" onto the servo drive. The small tappet
points towards the vehicle side.
The servo should be in the centre position; possibly,
the position of the servo saver on the servo arm must
be corrected after commissioning (uninstall servo saver
and put component „SA1" onto the servo drive again
offset by a few teeth).
Then the ring „SA2" is attached, so that the slot at the ring is
exactly over the tappet at the part „SA1".
Before attaching the servo arm „SA3", the ball-headed screw
„KK1" is attached to the servo arm „SA3" from below.
Insert the plastics ring „SA4" into the respective opening of the
servo arm „SA3" and now screw the complete servo saver tightly
to the servo descent with a screw M3x12mm „S8".
Depending on the servo used by you, the screw „S8"
may not fit. In this case, observe the scope of delivery
for your servo; a suitable screw should be included,
too.
• Last, clamp the servo rod „SE" between the servo arm and the steering arm at the front axle.
The length of the servo rod can be set easily by twisting it. As with the transverse link, this also features a left/right
thread so that you do not have to remove the servo rod for this purpose.
