7. Electrical connection
Before removing the terminal box cover
and before any dismantling of the pump,
it is imperative to switch off the supply
voltage completely.
The electrical connection must be performed by a
specialist in conformity with the local regulations.
The pump must be protected by fuses supplied by
the customer and should have its own external
switch (controlling all poles).
The electrical data on the type plate must conform
to the data of the power supply provided.
Three-phase current motors must be protected by
a motor protection switch.
The motors have fitted winding protection contacts
(WPC 150 °C) which provide optimum motor protec-
tion in conjunction with an external activating device.
By releasing the motor fastening screws and rotating
the motor, the terminal box can be shifted through
steps of 90°. Connect the motor in accordance with
the circuit diagram in the terminal box.
Fit the terminal box cover correctly

8. Frequency converter operation
All three-phase current motors can be connected to
a frequency converter.
Increased motor noise can be produced
Caution
depending on the type of frequency
converter.
The motor can also be exposed to harmful
voltage peaks if an external frequency
converter is used.
Resulting faults, i.e. noise as well as harmful voltage
peaks, can be minimised by fitting an LC-filter
between the frequency converter and motor.
Only screened cables must be used; the WSK
(winding protection contact) of the pump should
be connected to the FC if possible.
The minimum permitted frequency is 25%.
For further information please consult the manu-
facturer of the frequency converter.
9. Commissioning
Before commissioning, it is essential to fill

the pump with pumping medium and to
vent it.
9.1 Filling up
Closed or open systems with admission pressure on
the suction side of the pump:
– Close the stop valve on the pressure side of the
pump and open the vent screw (LV) of the pump.
In order to avoid the risk of injury to

persons or damage to the motor or other
components by escaping medium, attention
should be paid to the direction of opening
of the vent valve. Particularly in plants with
hot media, it must be ensured that there
is no risk of scalding.

– Open the stop valve in the intake pipe slowly until
the medium runs out of the vent opening.
– Tighten the vent screw and open the stop valve
fully.
