Before removing the terminal box cover
and before any dismantling of the pump, it
is imperative to switch the supply voltage
off completely.
Cause
a) No supply of current to the motor
b) Fuses blown
c) Motor protection switch triggered
d) Switching contacts or the coil of the switching
device are defective
e) Control fuse defective
f) Motor defective
a) A fuse is blown
b) Motor protection switch contacts defective
c) Cable link loose or defective
d) Motor winding defective
e) Pump blocked mechanically
f) Motor protection switch set too low
or has wrong range
a) Motor protection switch set too low
b) Mains voltage to the pump is too low or too high
c) Differential pressure across the pump is too low
or motor is overloaded
a) Check items 1a), b), d), e) and f)
a) Suction line too narrow or bent inlet
(e.g. curve at suction intake)
b) Suction line/pump dirty
c) Pump sucks in air
a) Suction line/pump blocked by impurities
b) Base or nonreturn valve blocked in closed position
c) Suction line leaking
d) Air in the suction line or in the pump
e) Motor running in wrong direction of rotation
a) Suction line leaking
b) Base or nonreturn valve defective
c) Base or nonreturn valve blocked in the open
or partially open position
a) Wrong fitting of the shaft seal
b) Shaft seal defective
c) Abrasive additives
d) Air in the mechanical shaft seal space/
air in the system pressure
a) Cavitation in the pump
b) Frequency converter operation:
– See Section 8.
– Resonance in the system
c) Foreign body in the pump/ impeller
d) Insufficiently vented
