Checking and cleaning the magnetite
separator

1.
Use the stopcock to depressurise the heating installa-
tion.
2.
Loosen the permanent magnet by a quarter turn, and
pull it downwards and out.
3.
Use a spanner to unscrew the sealing plug for the
drain spigot.

4.
Connect a hose with a hose clamp to the drain spigot.

3/4" internal diameter (≈ 19 mm)
5.
Use a hex key to open the valve by turning it 1/4 turn
anti-clockwise or clockwise.

Width across flats: 4 mm

The remaining heating water flushes the filter.

6.
Undo the union nut and remove the lower section of
the separator.
7.
Remove the filter and clean it.
8.
Reinstall the filter and the permanent magnet in re-
verse order.
9.
Open the stopcocks.
10.
Check the pressure in the heating installation and top
up with heating water, if necessary.
