Cleaning the domestic hot water cylinder
Note
As the cylinder tank is cleaned on the domestic
hot water side, ensure that the cleaning agents
used satisfy hygiene requirements.
1.
Drain the domestic hot water cylinder.
2.
Remove the protection anode from the cylinder.
3.
Use a jet of water through the anode opening on the
cylinder to clean the cylinder interior.
4.
Rinse sufficiently and allow the water used for cleaning
to flow out via the cylinder drain cock.
5.
Close the draining cock.
6.
Refit the protection anode to the cylinder.
7.
Fill the cylinder with water and check whether it is leak-
tight.
11.10 Checking and correcting the filling pressure
of the heating installation
If the filling pressure falls below the minimum pressure, a
maintenance message is shown on the display.
If the filling pressure 0.1 MPa (1 bar) is exceeded, the purge
programme automatically starts with a 30-second delay. The
purge programme can only be cancelled by a reset.
–
Min. heating circuit pressure: ≥ 0.05 MPa (≥ 0.50 bar)

Top up the heating water in order to start up the heat
pump again; Filling and purging the heating installation
(→ Page 224).
▶
If you notice frequent pressure losses, determine and
eliminate the cause.
11.11 Checking the refrigerant circuit
1.
Check whether the components and pipelines are free
from dirt and corrosion.
2.
Check whether the thermal insulation for the refrigerant
pipes is undamaged.
3.
Check whether the refrigerant pipes have been routed
without any kinks.
11.12 Checking the refrigerant circuit for tightness
1.
Check whether the components in the refrigerant circuit
and the refrigerant pipes are free from damage and oil
leaks.
2.
Use a gas sniffer to check the refrigerant circuit for
leak-tightness. In doing so, check all of the compon-
ents and pipelines.
3.
Document the result of the leak-tightness test in the
service book.

11.13 Checking the electrical connections
1.
In the connection box, check that the electrical wire are
seated firmly in the plugs or terminals.
2.
Check the earthing in the connection box.
3.
Check whether the power supply cable is damaged. If
it needs to be replaced, ensure that it is only replaced
by Vaillant or customer service or a similarly qualified
person in order to prevent hazards.
4.
In the product, check that the electrical wires are
seated firmly in the plugs or terminals.
5.
In the product, check whether the electrical wires are
free from damage.
6.
If there is a fault that affects safety, do not switch the
power supply back on until the fault has been elimin-
ated.
7.
If it is not possible to immediately eliminate this fault
but it is still necessary to operate the installation, create
a suitable interim solution. Inform the end user about
this.
11.14 Completing inspection and maintenance
Warning.
Risk of burns due to hot and cold com-
ponents.
There is a risk of burns from any uninsu-
lated pipelines and from the electric back-
up heater.
▶
Before starting up the unit, install any cas-
ing sections that have been removed.
1.
Switch on the disconnector to which the product is con-
nected in the building.
2.
Start up the heat pump system.
3.
Check that the heat pump system is working without
any problems.
12 Repair and service
12.1
Preparing repair and service work
▶
Observe the basic safety rules before carrying out repair
and service work.
▶
Only carry out work on the refrigerant circuit if you have
specific expert refrigeration knowledge and are compet-
ent at handling R32 refrigerant.
▶
When working on the refrigerant circuit, inform everybody
who is working in the close vicinity, or who is in the area,
about the type of work that is to be carried out.
▶
Only carry out work on electrical components if you have
specific electrical expertise.
