The
Autorcflex-T3
is
the
world
's first
professional
Through-The-Lens metering
35mm
Single-Lens
Reflex
cam-
era
to have
fully automatic AEC
exposrue
co ntrol. The
AEC
meter system establishes contact to all
KONI
CA
Hexanon AR
lenses
by
means ofa
meter-actuated
cou pling
lever.
When the
shut
ter
release
is
depressed
,
the
sp ring
loaded
aperture
in the lens
is tr
ip
ped
to close
to
the
limit
determ
ined
by
this coupling
lever. This
limit
is the
precise
aper ture requ
ired
for
a perfect exposure at
that
insta
nt
when
you
press th
e
button.
With
a
KONICA Hexanon
AR
le ns
in stall ed in
your
Autorenex-T3 there is
no
need to waste
time
before
shoo ting
to match
th
e needle
to
a mar k.
You
o nly
need
to
focus
an
d
compose,
then
press
the
shu
tter
release
-
remaining
assured
all
the time that
co rrect
exposu re
is
being
taken
care of. Full concentration can
thus be made
on the
sponta neous or esthetic needs of your
photography.
In
ac
tuality,
the
KONICA
Autoreflex-T3
offers
not one
but
three
op tional methods of arriving at
th
e
correct
of
desired
exposure.
AEC Metering:
With
a KONICA Hexa
non
AR (Electric-
Eye) lens,
th
e needle
in
the
view
find
er serves only
to let
you
kn
ow at
which
fls top
th
e
fu
lly
auto matic metering
sys
tem will
make
the
picture
for you. Shutter
and
diaphragm
are cross-co upled.
TI1U

if
you
choose a
high
shu
tter
speed
to stop ac
tion
,
the diaphragm will
be se
t for
a
wid
er opening
automaticall
y.
On
the
other
hand,
should
you need
a smaller
stop
for greater Dep
th-of-Field
,
si
mpl
y
turn the
Shutter
Speed
Dial
(20)
to a slower
speed.
The
needle
in
the
inform ati on cen
ter
of
the Viewfinder will
keep
you
infor med.
At the
same
time,
yo
u
ca
n
read
the
shutter
speed
setting
below
the
view ing area (see page
33).
Sto
ed-Down Exposure
Metering:
With KONICA and
other
lenses hav ing
manual
or
prese
t
diaphrag
m (not
EE),
as
well
as
with
ex
tensi
on rings
and
bello ws,
th
e
Stopped-Down
method
is
used.
Here the ex posure is
read
a
t the
actual
aperture
used
to
make the
picture. The
needle
in
the
Contr ol Center
is
then
simply brought
to
the
Ind
ex
Mark
op posite
the
f
/
1.4
figure.
This ca
n
also be
done by
cha
nging
the
shutter
speed
se tting.
Leterally thousands
of lenses
can
be
used with
this sys
tem.
In
addition to
KONI
CA
Auto-
Refl
ex lenses, lenses
in
mounts for KONICA
FP,
Pentaxl
Prakti
ca, Exa kta/To
pcon and
Nikon/
Nikkormat
ca
n
be
used
for the
Stopped-Down
metering
with the Autoreflex-
T3 via
their
respec
tive KONICA Lens
Adapters.
Manual Exposure
Settings:
Should
you
have
so
me
special
ex posure Idea

mind,
you
need

nly
move
the
diaphragm
ring
of
your
KONICA Hexanon
AR
lens
from the
EE
setting to any flsto
p
desired.
Thus,
with
this
and
the
other
meter ing sys tems
just discussed
,
exposure
with
the
KONI-
CA
Autoreflex-T3
beco mes
a
versatile
tool which
gives
you
freedom
to ex
ploit
its
au
tomati on or
to
ch
oose
other
expos ure
meth
ods.

NOTE:
The
KONICA
Autoreflex-T3
does no
t take any
fully
au
tomatic
EE apertu
re lens
prepared
for the
Autoreflex as
it
is.
Make
sure tha
t
you
sue
it
after it
has
been remodeled
into a
lens for
use
on
the
Autoreflex-T3
(with
f-numbers). Remodeling
work is
quite
simple.
