OPERATION OF THE
MACHINE
Read the Safety Instructions.
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE FOR THE
FIRST TIME
1.
Remove the sump filler cap (A Fig. 6) and with
the machine on level ground check to see if
sump is filled with oil, if not fill sump up to the
top of the filler hole threads with a
recommended engine oil.
2.
Fill the petrol tank with fresh regular grade
petrol.
3.
Lubricate the machine (as recommended on
page 28).
TO START THE ENGINE
1.
Ensure that the cylinder clutch is disengaged.
2.
Move the choke lever to the 'START' position.
3.
Set the ignition cutout switch to the 'ON'
position.
4.
Pull the rope operated recoil starter fully to start
the engine. Allow the rope to recoil slowly
before releasing the handle.
5.
Move the choke lever to the 'RUNNING'
position.
TO STOP THE ENGINE
1.
Set the ignition cutout switch to the 'OFF'
position.
NOTE: DO NOT allow the engine to idle for
long periods.
