TRANSPORT WHEEL BRAKE
The transport wheel brake should be disengaged
before any adjustments are made. Before adjusting
ensure the compression spring length is 94mm. The
brakes should be adjusted using the actuating rods on
either side of the machine. Adjustments to the cables
can be made at the brake lever on the handles or the
abutment bracket on the top deck.
To adjust the spring (Fig.29):
1.
Ensure the self lock nut (C Fig.31) is released
to allow the rod to move.
2.
Release the locknut (A) and adjust nut (B) until
correct spring (C) length is achieved.
3.
Retighten the locknut.
NOTE: Before adjusting spring ensure selflock
nut (F) is backed off to allow rod to extend spring
To adjust the actuating rods (Fig.31):
1.
The actuating rod (E) should be screwed into
the trunnion (B) until it is flush with the front
surface and the locknut (D) tightened.
2.
Adjust self locking nut (C) on the rod where it
attaches to the brake band using a socket
screw driver.
To adjust the cable at the handles (Fig.30):
1.
Release the locknut (A) on the adjuster (B)
at the hand control end of the cable.
2.
Screw the adjuster (B) until the hand
lever can be retained by the OPC.
3.
When the correct adjustment has been
made retighten the locknut.
To adjust cable at abutment bracket (Fig.29):
1.
Release the locknut (D) on the adjuster (E)
at the abutment bracket end of the cable.
2.
Screw the adjuster (D) until the hand
lever can be retained by the OPC.
3.
When the correct adjustment has been
made retighten the locknut.
NOTE: Ensure the cable is free when the OPC is
released and the brakes are engaged. Spring
stretch controls the lever position not cable
tautness.
LANDROLL SCRAPER (Fig.32)
The Landroll scraper (A) should be taut but not so taut
as to distort the side plates. If the scraper becomes
loose tighten by adjusting the self locking nuts (B) at
each end of the scraper. If all adjustment is used up
replace the scraper.
NOTE: Do not fit scraper wire too close to landroll
allowing it to rub.
