Functional earth connection
8
To discharge the EMC interferences, connect the FE connection (8) on the bus
u
coupler via a low-impedance line to functional earth.
The cable cross section must be designed according to the application.

4.1.2 LED

The bus coupler has 6 LEDs.
The following table describes the functions of the LEDs. For a comprehensive de-
scription of the LEDs, see section g 11. LED Diagnosis on the Bus Coupler.

4.1.3 Address switch

Fig. 2: Location of address switches S1 and S2
Fig. 3: Address switches S1 and S2
The two address switches S1 and S2 are located underneath the window (3).
• Switch S1: The higher digit of the hex value of the address is set at switch S1.
Switch S1 is labeled using the hexadecimal system from 0 to F.
• Switch S2: The lower digit of the hex value of the address is set at switch S2.
Switch S2 is labeled using the hexadecimal system from 0 to F.
For a comprehensive description of addressing, see section g 9. Presettings on
the Bus Coupler.

4.2 Valve driver

For a description of the valve drivers, see section g 12.2. Valve zone.

5 PLC Configuration of the AV Valve System

For the bus coupler to correctly exchange data from the modular valve system
with the PLC, the PLC must be able to detect the valve system structure. In order
to represent the actual configuration of the valve system's electrical components
in the PLC, you can use the configuration software of the PLC programming sys-
tem. This process is known as PLC configuration.
You can use PLC configuration software from various manufacturers for the PLC
configuration. The descriptions in the following sections therefore focus on the
basic procedure for configuring the PLC.
