h) Attaching and Fastening the Car Body
Fold the car body closed and guide the aerial tube through the corresponding opening from the bottom of the car body.
Fasten the car body at the chassis with the two safety clips (see chapter 8. a).
i) Check Range of the Remote Control
In order not to lose control over your model you should, before every first start or after a crash, check the function and
range of the RC system. For the range test, it is sufficient to check the steering servo function. You may also switch
the LEDs of the vehicle on/off (via channel 3 of the transmitter).
Only perform the range test without the engine running!
Proceed as follows:
• Put something under the vehicle so that the wheels of the front axle are suspended freely in the air.
Due to the vehicle weight and the good adhesion of the tyres, the wheels of the front axle would not move
with the vehicle standing if you change the steering deflection on the remote control.
The steering servo is also overloaded.
• First switch on the transmitter and then the receiver power supply.
• Move approx. 50 m away from the model.
• Move the steering wheel at the transmitter to the right. Now the wheels must turn towards the right.
• Move the steering wheel to the left. The wheels must deflect to the left.
• Release the steering wheel. The wheels must return to the middle position.
Never drive the model with a defective remote control!
Before driving, find the error if the reactions of the steering servo to the control commands at the transmitter
are not as described in the range test. For example, check the condition of the transmitter and receiver
power supply (voltage of the rechargeable batteries/batteries) and positioning of the aerial in the vehicle.
The largest range results if the aerials at the transmitter and vehicle are in parallel to each other (aerial at
the transmitter and the vehicle are each vertical).
The lowest range results if the two aerials are perpendicular to each other (e.g. when pointing the tip of the
transmitter aerial at the vehicle).
